Why do the SP3050A passive probes that come with the SDS6000A have a 2 GHz only label?
November 1, 2021
From approximately August, 2021 through May, 2022, the SIGLENT SDS6000A oscilloscope was delivered with model SP3050A 500 MHz probes that were tuned for use with the SDS6000A only. Even though they had the same model number, they have a different response from the same SP3050As that were included with other SIGLENT scopes, including the SDS5X. … Continued
Do your instruments support UDP communications over LAN?
August 5, 2021
Not at this time. Many instruments support communication via sockets (port 5025) and telnet (port 5024) but the port numbers cannot be changed. If you use VISA, you can implement LAN via TCP/IP, which does not need a port number. Here is a listing of current SIGLENT instruments with Socket and Telnet Support.

Why is the Bode Plot start frequency minimum 10 Hz?
June 23, 2021
The minimum start frequency is set to 10 Hz because of the extended acquisition time required to collect enough data to ensure a useful level of measurement accuracy. If the low limit was 1 Hz, the scope would need to test 10 cycles (to maintain specified accuracy), so the time base will be 10 s/div. … Continued
SDS2000X Plus and SDS5000X Default Logic Levels
May 17, 2021
The SDS2000X Plus and SDS5000X series oscilloscopes have default threshold and trigger values for the MSO/Digital channels listed below: TTL = 1.5V CMOS = 1.65V LVCMOS33 = 1.65V LVCMOS25 = 1.25V
Are SIGLENT products certified by a Nationally Recognized Test Laboratories (NRTL)?
May 7, 2021
Per OSHA, a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) is an independent third-part laboratory recognized by the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to test and certify products to applicable product safety standards. Examples of NRTLs include UL, CSA, and TUV. Many SIGLENT products are TUV certified, which also covers UL and CSA requirements. To … Continued
SAG1021/SAG1021I output current limit
April 6, 2021
30 mA is the theoretical maximum for SAG1021/SAG1021I. I = V/R = 1.5V(max) / 50 Ohm = 30 mA

How do I directly control an instrument using LAN?
February 16, 2021
For convenience, we recommend connecting your instrument to your LAN using a router that can configure DHCP directly and use an internet switch to connect the LAN to the instruments you wish to control. In some cases, you may wish to directly connect your computer to an instrument LAN port without a LAN available. This … Continued
Oscilloscope Binary Data format
February 4, 2021
Data can be formatted in many different ways. Binary data formatting often provides the smallest payload size and therefore transfers via USB/LAN more quickly. Unfortunately, binary is very difficult to interpret by humans. So, binary data is often reformatted to other types (ASCII, etc..)/ Here is a link to the binary data format for many … Continued
