SDS Sequence mode: Stop after end frame is reached
October 6, 2022
Many SIGLENT SDS series oscilloscopes feature Sequence mode, which can be used to capture multiple trigger events that can be replayed like frames in a movie. In this video, we show how to use SINGLE trigger mode to stop acquisition after the user-defined sequences have been captured.
VNC Viewer for easy LAN control of multiple instruments
October 6, 2022
In this video, I connect an SDS6000A series oscilloscope and SDG7000A series arbitrary waveform generator to a computer using a LAN and highlight some of the features of a commercially available VNC(r) software tool. If you are remotely monitoring instrumentation, these types of tools can be very helpful in displaying information.
Power Supply design: Testing! Not Guessing!
April 22, 2021
In this video, Thomas Rottach from SIGLENT EU presents information on overcoming common power supply design issues through different testing methods. The first presentation of this material was at the Power Electronics Forum @ virtual Electronica 2020.
Oscilloscope Search and Navigate example: Quickly identify dirty power/brown out on the power line
May 1, 2020
In this video, we use the Search and Navigate feature of the SIGLENT SDS2X Plus scope to isolate and indicate low voltage conditions of an input signal. Here, we use an SDG signal generator to produce a 60 Hz sine wave and we introduce a few periods of much lower voltage.. simulating dirty power/brownout conditions … Continued
Power Supply Design: Load Step Response with a SIGLENT DC Electronic Load
April 3, 2020
In this video, I compare the response from two power supplies using a stepped load to show the differences between a well-tuned supply and one that exhibits excessive ringing. Also, add in some basic instrument requirements to help get you started making your own step load tests. Here, I use a SIGLENT SDL1X-E DC Electronic … Continued
SDS1004/SDS2000X-E series Embedded Web Control
October 14, 2019
The SIGLENT SDS1004X-E series (4 channel only. Does not apply to the SDS1202X-E), SDS2000X-E, and SDS5000X series of oscilloscopes feature a web control interface that provides remote instrument control without additional software. In this video, we show you how to configure the scope for wired LAN or wireless WiFi connection and an overview of the … Continued
Quick remote computer control using LXI Tools
October 14, 2019
In this video, we introduce you to LXI Tools, an open-source instrument programming and control application that has a small footprint and excellent performance. It works seamlessly with a variety of SIGLENT products, including SDSX and XE scopes, SDGX generators, and SDM DMMs. Special thanks to Martin Lund and the other developers of LXI … Continued
Frequency Response Curves (Bode Plot) using an Oscilloscope and Function Generator
October 11, 2019
In this video, we show how to use the automated Bode Plot feature of the SIGLENT SDS1004X-E series of four-channel oscilloscopes to create a frequency response curve. This video applies to the SIGLENT SDS1104X-E, SDS1204X-E, SDS2000X-E, SDS2000X Plus, and SDS5000X oscilloscopes as well as the SDG X series (SDG1X, 2X, and 6X) of arbitrary waveform … Continued
Chris Grossman investigates 50 ohm feed through terminators using a SIGLENT SDS1X-E scope and SDG2X generator
July 16, 2019
In this video, Chris shows how terminations affect signals and compares various 50 ohm terminations using a SIGLENT scope and function generator:
