VNC Viewer for easy LAN control of multiple instruments
October 6, 2022
In this video, I connect an SDS6000A series oscilloscope and SDG7000A series arbitrary waveform generator to a computer using a LAN and highlight some of the features of a commercially available VNC(r) software tool. If you are remotely monitoring instrumentation, these types of tools can be very helpful in displaying information.

RF cable and adapter cleaning and stability check using a VNA
December 10, 2021
In this video, we introduce techniques for inspecting, cleaning, and evaluating the quality of RF cables and connectors. We also introduce a simple method of determining the quality and stability of a cable using a vector network analyzer (VNA) to perform an S11 measurement and open, short, load calibration.
How accurate are your pre-compliance conducted emissions test results?
December 9, 2021
In this video, Dr. Min Zhang from Mach One Design EMC consulting demonstrates the accuracy of his conducted noise pre-compliance test set-up, consisting of a Siglent spectrum analyzer, a Tekbox TBOH01 LISN, EMCview software, and a shielded tent and compares it to results from an accredited compliance lab. Chapters: 0:00 Automotive Conducted Emission Test Set-up … Continued

How to observe demodulated audio from a spectrum analyzer
December 16, 2020
Viewing demodulated audio can be important when troubleshooting a transmitter. In this video, I demodulate an FM radio station using a SIGLENT spectrum analyzer and view the output signal on an oscilloscope.
Distance-to-Fault cable testing with the SVA1000X
March 3, 2020
In this video, we use the Distance-to-Fault (DTF) function available on the SIGLENT SVA1000X Spectrum and Vector Network Analyzer instruments to test a few sections of coaxial cabling. DTF uses frequency domain reflectometry (FDR) to highlight impedance differences along a length of cable. This can be used to determine the distance to adapters, faults, and … Continued
